Working on My Project after the Pandemic

Image
I’m currently revisiting a project that has been on hold for several years. It was originally planned for release before the pandemic, but like many things at that time, it had to be postponed. Now I am slowly returning to it and working through my backlog of unfinished ideas and creative work. Finishing long-delayed projects can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding. For me, creating is not only about producing work for others but also about personal fulfillment. Completing these projects reminds me why I started making art in the first place.

Gladiator-Inspired Logo Commission

Image
Recently, I worked on a logo commission inspired by the imagery of gladiators. The client requested a clean line art style, which gave the design a bold yet minimal look. Projects like this allow me to merge storytelling with design, translating themes of strength and resilience into simple, striking visuals. If you’re interested in a custom logo or illustration for your brand or personal project, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to collaborate with you.

How I Draw in 2003 - My Art Journey

Image
These drawings from 2003 were recently sent to me by friends who still own them. Honestly, I created so much art back then that I don’t even remember drawing some of these pieces. At that time, most of my works were in anime style. It was only after I met Kuya Bing Cansino, a Marvel/DC Comics artist, that I started studying proper anatomy. Today, my art style has become very diverse. I don’t commit to just one style — I can work in many different ways. Sometimes I think about developing a single, recognizable style, but to me, that doesn’t sound fun at all. I enjoy exploring art, and if that means changing styles often, then so be it.

Clean and Fierce: Cheetah Karate Logo Design for my Client

Image
One of my recent logo projects was for a client who envisioned a cheetah doing karate—clean, bold, and full of energy. He specifically wanted the lines to be crisp and the overall design to look professional yet dynamic. After finalizing the figure, we also took time to explore typography that best fits the character of the logo. The final result is a strong, agile visual identity that reflects his brand's personality. If you're looking for a custom logo or illustration that tells your story, feel free to message me. I'd love to help you bring your vision to life.

I love Putting Date, Place and Time on my Old Drawings (2003)

Image
My college teacher recently sent me this old drawing of mine from 2003. I was delighted to see it, though I can't recall creating it since I made so many drawings at that time. I like how I experimented with posing the character in a dynamic way—something I lost or became too afraid to try again after learning proper anatomy and body structure. It's also interesting to see that I noted the date, time, and place where I drew the piece, something I remember doing often. Sometimes, I would write it on the back of the paper. You can see more or my work at my website .

Pinoy Fiesta Illustration by Mel Casipit

Image
"Pinoy Fiesta" Recently, I created an illustration sample for a project called "Pinoy Fiesta." If anyone is interested in a print of this artwork, please let me know! I made this piece using Clip Studio Paint. It turns out that creating a busy and detailed illustration like this is quite challenging. I looked at various references to improve my concept and ensure the final result was as good as possible. I believe I managed to achieve a beautiful outcome. What do you think? #melcasipitillustration #Fiesta #pistangpinoy2024
